Dora Mai, born 1972 in Munich, Germany is an architect and painter based in Vienna, Austria. After studying Architecture in Frankfurt, she started working as an interior designer and architect for several years and later worked in Vienna. Dora Mai began painting in 2015 when she started studying Fine Arts in Vienna and shortly thereafter started her career as a full-time painter. Moments of happiness and joy are at the heart of her work, and they are brilliantly portrayed in many of her paintings which are populated with memories incited by images influenced by family photos, children, splashing water and lifeguards. Dora has worked professionally in painting and visual arts in Germany and Austria. Her work has been awarded in national and international competitions and she has participated in solo and collective exhibitions mainly in Vienna. Dora lives and works in Vienna.
