“Socially significant things can be found everywhere - you just have to look out the window”

Maria Pomiansky was born in Moscow in 1971. She studied Graphic Design at the Moscow College of Art and Design before she moved to Israel, where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem. She went on to further postgraduate studies and earned a Master of Scenography and Master of Fine Arts, both from the ZHdK (Zürcher Hochschule der Künste) in Zürich, Switzerland. Maria paints what she sees: her own atelier, the view through the window, the streets and the gardens, coffee houses, and parks. In short: cityscapes. She has a passion for buildings and architecture which she depicts in small and large-scale formats using vivid colors. This gives them a touch of beauty even when the content reflects rough or harsh realistic circumstances. Pomiansky has taken part in countless solo and group exhibitions and is a member of the New Barbizon group since 2019.
